This year, my son and I had the pleasure of attending the Sydney Santa Fun Run on 30th November. It was a truly memorable day filled with laughter, energy, and an overwhelming sense of community as we came together to support Vision Australia in their incredible work for children with eye diseases and blindness.
A Festive Atmosphere
From the moment we arrived, the event was brimming with holiday cheer. Dressed in our festive Santa outfits, we joined thousands of participants for a day packed with fun activities.
One of the highlights for my son was the face painting station, where he got an adorable Christmas-themed design. We also stopped by for a photo with Santa, capturing a wonderful memory to cherish. Another unique experience was the guide dog practice session, where we learned about the amazing work these dogs do and even had a chance to interact with them.
The 5 km Run Along the Harbour
The pinnacle of the day was the 5 km fun run. The course was nothing short of breathtaking, with its stunning harbour views providing the perfect backdrop. Running alongside families, friends, and fellow Santa-suited participants, we felt a strong sense of purpose.
The run wasn’t just about fun—it was about giving back. By participating, we contributed to Vision Australia’s mission to support children with eye diseases and blindness. Knowing our efforts would make a difference added a meaningful layer to the experience.
A Cause Close to the Heart
